Jorge Alberto Fuentes Zapata

When you search my full name online there's a lot of data on Google about me. AI tools like Perplexity and ChatGPT can also provide you with nice summaries of me. Yet, while all of which you'll find is true (so far) I want you to be able to have one single source of truth about me and who I am. As there's stuff about me in marketing, insurance, nonprofit, politics, soccer, law etc. And, yes, I've been in all those industries/places involved somehow, and at some point, but the amount of content and pictures out there about different moments in my life can confuse some people, since my life's journey has been anything but logically consistent. A lawyer turned marketer? A car insurance agent turned HubSpot specialist? Was I really invited to a NASL team's combine once? Did Oscar Árias (Nobel Peace Prize Winner, 1987) really give an award to a nonprofit I was part of because of a social media campaign I crafted? Was I a professional drummer by age 12? Did I almost run for Congress? So, some achievements and things I've productively done may need a positive walk-through and explanation. Hence, why I've created this site, the single source of truth about me and my life's journey.

So here we go...

Let's start at the beginning, I was born on June 4th, 1994 in Mexico City. Grew up there, had a good/fantastic childhood (my story is not that inspiring if you came looking for a "rags to riches" bio, since I had it good, middle class, but never lacked, God was good to us), I moved to Canada with my parents by age 12 (by the way my dad owns this business, his story is more inspiring than mine, and I am grateful to be able to build on top of his shoulders, love you, dad!), finished my elementary school in Brampton, and my high school in Toronto, then went to get a business management diploma at Humber College. My childhood was awesome and I loved and still love my parents greatly.

In that process, I did a ton of stuff:

Played drums as part of Musician's Choice School of Rock event. (I had learned drums while in Mexico and was really good, but no, I was not a professional drummer, yet, however, all my teachers said I had lots of potential), this was a very awesome time in my life, and I'll never forget it. I have a DVD with the time we played at West7 Bar, we were real dope. LOL

Trained for a team in Mexico's third professional division, the team was Leones de Lomar FC, now extinct.

I also played for an affiliate academy of Chivas, and nutmegged a dude in a professional stadium (which is not used anymore for professional soccer), but it used to be! And belonged to Oaxtepec FC (fan extinct team that played in Mexico's First Division league) (video below, nutmeg and beautiful pass at about 0:23 sec)

Attended, as I was invited to, a combine for NASL's Minnesota Stars. (didn't make the team LOL, but had a blast traveling to Minnesota with my mom).

Played for the North York Astros' U-20 team. Had a blast and made some good friends.

So, no, I was not a professional drummer by age 12, but played really well (in my mind ROFL); in fact, I played better then than I do now haha.

And no, regardless of the great amateur/semi-pro trajectory I had in soccer, I did not become a professional player, I would have loved it, but now that I am 30 I understand that God's plan was better (for me specifically, for my health, and personality).

Important milestone: Total Skills Videos

So, overall, one of the most important milestones I accomplished as a teenager was the YouTube channel of Total Skills Videos, at it's highest peak this channel had more than 6,000 subscribers, and surpassed 3 million views.

Feel free to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/@TotalSkillsVideos

Then I attended College.

Humber was just awesome, this is where I learned a ton of things and got passionate about business.  While there, I participated in the Ontario College's Marketing Competition at the Quiz Bowl event, but while I did not win, I had a blast, yet, Humber as a team, did get 2nd place. We had a good time, and I remember my time at Humber as a great transition from being student not knowing much, into an adult that understands the big picture now.

The above picture is one from my time at Humber that you'll see around Google when searching for: Jorge Alberto Fuentes Zapata.

Furthermore, here are a few videos where I'm in, either as part of the public or actually talking, from my time at Humber (man, was I handsome), and yes, I was always socially anxious; to this date this is the case, I am an ordinary introvert who simply does extroverted things for a living:

I don't have much else to say, except that I am so grateful to have had the chance to meet all of these wonderful friends, I hope they're just doing amazing and getting blessings over blessings, and success over success. These dudes and gals were just awesome.

As a side note, while at Humber, I'd take the TTC bus on a daily basis and was the dude reading the Financial Post. So, if anyone remembers a dude with a newspaper on a bus going to Humber College North Campus, it was for sure me.

Other relevant milestons: Graduated with Honours, and an assignment done there became a selfpublished book on Amazon titled: Simulated Trading: An Average Investor.

After Humber College a lot of important milestones took place, I returned to Mexico and this time I moved to Mérida, Yucatán. Here's a metric ton of stuff I accomplished while there:

List of accomplishments covering 2015 to 2021:

Those would be the most relevant, but things would only get better from there:

This is what ended up happening from then onwards...

As I joined Céntrico Digital, first marketing agency I worked for, and then as it got acquired by UHURU Network, I cannot stress the amount of challenges that would come to me by stepping into the marketing career.

It started stressful and very challenging for me, as I was really a newbie, but as you can see above, I am now known by Inbound marketing legends like Marcus Sheridan and George B. Thomas

I have made unbelievable friends along the way, from people at Centrico and UHURU, all the way to MSE Supplies, Directive Consulting, OneLocal, ConnectCRE, but none of them as meaningful as working for George B Thomas at Sidekick Strategies.

Furthermore, I now have 51 active HubSpot Certifications (most likely one of the people with most certifications in HubSpot Academy's history), and I have even published my first course with the help of HubSpot Academy's team:

Unbelievable amount of blessings truly come to those who love and trust the Lord.

Thank you for taking the patience to read through, but indeed, everything you can find when searching for me specifically, and with my full name attached to it, without missing a single one of my 4 names (first name, middle name, first last name, and second last name) I guarantee you it is tied to me, and I truly feel blessed about it. It is then my duty to bless others with the gifts and grace that God has poured on me, and there is nothing greater than seeking Him first above all.
